Take the { s t r e s s } out of hosting by preparing ahead of time. Here’s my simple checklist:
3-7 days before guests arrive
- Wash Sheets & Towels
- place towels on the bed { face towel, wash cloth, & bath towel }
- Dust Blinds, Floors, & Furniture
- Make Bed
- “the formula” ~ 2 pillows { of different comfort style } for every 1 guest ~ flat, fluffy, hard, soft
- “the decorative throw” ~ I like to keep one blanket in sight, just in case they get cold
- Seasonal Decorative Item
- if your entire home is decorated for the season, it shouldn’t stop in at the bedroom
- January { snowmen & snowflakes }
- February { hearts & kisses }
- March { four leaf clovers }
- April { eggs & bunnies }
- May { tulips & flamingos }
- June {pineapples & palms }
- July { red, white, & blue }
- August { sunflowers }
- September { gerber daisies }
- October { pumpkins & candy corn }
- November { leaves & pinecones}
- December { Christmas trees & candy canes }
2 days before guests arrive
- Clean & Organize Bathroom
- place extra towels on the counter or towel bar { towels that are too soft don’t wick water & towels that are too rough feel like sand paper ~ choose a happy medium }
- fill glass jars with travel size soaps, lotions, & toothbrushes { include anything your guests might forget ~ razors, hair brushes, lady products, etc }
- Bouquet of Flowers
- Personal Touch
- leave magazines, jars of their favorite candy, or their favorite midnight snacks on the bed { don’t forget bottles of water }
That’s it, darling! Now that you’re two days ahead of schedule, go relax { or clean the living room }.
All the goodness in hosting loved ones,
Love this!
Oh jeeze, you are so good!! I’m certain that you’re surely an amazing hostess because these are all things I wouldn’t have even thought of (two different pillow types) smart!
