Whimsical Weekend Wrap Up + Wrightsville Beach

W E D N E S D A Y

Even though I had to work, there was nothing better than waking up at the beach. I’m so thankful we left on Tuesday night! I worked all morning so that I could head to the beach in the afternoon. So worth it to see our niece, Fallon, run around on the beach! Did I mention … she’s the cutest!? Her expressions are priceless.

Since they are so versatile, I wear my jelly Jacks everywhere – to the beach, the pool, dinner, shopping.

Woke up e a r l y { when it comes to in-laws, you gotta do what you gotta do } to get ready for family portraits { I’ll post the pictures soon }.

Breakfast in bed while I worked.

Family portrait time – our photographer was amazing with Fallon so she captured our pictures in record time.

The ladies ordered nonalcoholic Bloody Mary’s on the deck.

Worked for the rest of the afternoon and then realized our WIFI reached the pool deck. Not sure why it took me so long to figure this out. I took my laptop out to the cabana and worked by the pool.

We ordered pizzas by the pool around 5pm.

I was in succulent heaven.

The rest of the family decided that they wanted to get Mexican food before Fallon went to bed so we left the pool to get ready.

Everyone else had to get ready before we went out to dinner but all I had to do was shower and use batiste on my hair.

SIDE NOTE – Thanks to Temptu, Bobbi Brown, Makeup Forever, and RCMA makeup, I didn’t have to reapply makeup. The makeup seen here had been on for 11 hours – from the time I got ready for pictures to the time we went to dinner. I’ll never go back to using my old makeup. These products actually lasts WITHOUT a setting spray { whattttt whatttt }! P.S. The only filter used in this photo was Apple’s filter, “Fade,” because I like the color scheme.

At 6pm, we had dinner at Towers 7 { yes, I ate pizza and a quesadilla within the same hour }.

After dinner, a couple of us headed to Jimmy’s { under the famous bar, Red Dogs } for a drink. We quickly made some new friends. Cruiser kept us entertained for hours – he is the owner’s dog and often roams around downtown Wrightsville Beach … he even uses the crosswalks.

The guys woke up early to go fishing and I woke up to get some work done.

Oh, did I mention, Greg caught an award winning fish { he gets a certificate or a gold medal in a few days }. Needless to say, we were all very impressed.

After work and brunch, we left for the beach!

We decided to take a dip in the ocean … there was a strong current and despite my best efforts, a wave took me down as I tried to get out past the surf. My Maui Jim’s were taken by the waves and nowhere to be found. I reminded myself that they “ain’t nothing but a thing” but I couldn’t help but wonder what style they were so that I could purchase another pair. We enjoy the ocean for an hour and as we walk out, those sunglasses wash ashore. Thanks, God.

We toured Wilmington { it totally resembles Savannah, GA }. It was such a pretty, eclectic beach town and I enjoyed walking around window shopping with family.

How cute is this restaurant? You dine on the porch. { Greg and I are definitely coming back for this. }

I couldn’t believe that the weather was so nice! We had the most wonderful time with family – it was relaxing and renewing. Thanks, God.

There’s just something about the ocean breeze that calms your soul and puts a smile on your face.
