ADULT EYES ONLY – Elf on the Shelf

hi parents!

Maybe you’re here because you’ve seen these whimsical Christmas elves on social media or maybe you’re here because your child asked why they don’t have a scout elf {you can thank other parents} or maybe you’re here because my blog title caught your attention. Whatever the case, I’m here to give you the 411 on all things “Elf.”

Your family elf can arrive the day after Thanksgiving or on December 1st, it’s completely up to you. In our family, a scout elf visits to encourage the Christmas spirit and good behavior. Littlest brother name our elf, Spunky.

On December 1st, Spunky arrives promptly at midnight and stays until December 25th when his Plushee replacement is delivered by Santa. Spunky moves every night while us kids are sleeping {set your alarm} and watches over us during the day to report back to Santa. Sometimes Spunky’s shenanigans involve treats from the North Pole and other times, he is in elf bed with a leg cast. Spunky can be quite mischievous during the night and may require a night or two to rest up for the rest of his seasonal antics {if you forget to move him, here’s your excuse}.

After you request an elf {buy one from Amazon below}, I’ll report back. Because come December 5th, you’re going to need ideas for the elf’s nightly magic.

“At the North Pole, Santa has many helpers who make the Christmas season special! His Scout Elves serve as his eyes and ears in homes around the world, while his Elf Pets® play special roles in creating Christmas spirit that will help Santa complete all of his Christmas duties.”*
