With the many Holiday parties around the corner, don’t forget about your darling hostess. After all, she worked relentlessly to debut a fun-filled party for even the ever so critical party goer. Why don’t you be a sweet saving grace and bring an appetizer or dessert? And if you are really feeling very merry, a small gift will go a long way. Here’s a list of my favorite hostess gifts {click on images for links} as well as one recipe for an appetizer that will impress the guests at any party – even your great Aunt Deloris.
Tea Time at the Masters – Cheese Ring
Ingredients
Preparation
1. Preheat oven to 350° {I used the toaster oven}. Bake pecans in a single layer in a shallow pan 8 to 10 minutes or until toasted and fragrant, stirring halfway through. Cool 15 minutes.
2. Stir together mayonnaise {or mayo mixture*} and next 2 ingredients. Stir in pecans and cheese.
3. Spoon mixture into a plastic wrap-lined 4-cup ring mold with a 2 1/2-inch center. Cover and chill 2 hours {I didn’t have a ring mold}.
4. Move cheese ring onto a serving platter. Discard plastic wrap. Fill center of ring with preserves.
5. Serve with crackers {I use Carr’s Table Water Crackers with Cracked Pepper}. Garnish, if desired.
