Friends, we’ve been in go, go, go wedding mode for most of this year and it’s crazy to think that all of it is over but let’s take a look back at a little pre-wedding/ “we are done with all of the details” celebration I had for my cute fam.

Being that I’m in Charlotte and my wedding was back home, my family worked tirelessly to add final touches to make our celebration joyful and one we would surely remember. Before heading into town for Mother’s Day, I made a stop at our favorite Publix. They all know my sweet mama and our family so it was fun to see their smiling faces when they saw me walk through the door. We did a little catching up and I was off to grab mom some flowers and the ingredients for a charcuterie board I was planning for the family.
I always shop from right to left at Publix so my first stop was the refrigerated section. Knowing that my family likes Oscar Mayer Deli Fresh Lunchmeats, I picked up Honey Smoked Turkey and Honey Uncured Ham. These meats are made with all the good of the deli without artificial preservatives or added nitrates or nitrites and they also make a delicious Oven Roasted Turkey. I found some yummy sliced cold pickles in this section and I was off to find some cheeses to pair with the meats. Publix has an amazing selection so it took me some time to narrow down the choices and I almost called it a day and walked out with 13 different cheeses. After that, it was smooth sailing as I picked up the remaining items – fig jam, crackers, bread, olives, and fruits. I checked out at my favorite cashier’s lane and was on my way to celebrate my family and the little brothers were anxiously awaiting the meats and cheeses.
When I got home, I took inventory of my items, unboxed everything, and found some of my favorite serving boards. My brothers were closely watching as I arranged the meats and cheeses and offered to help several times. I finished setting up in our outdoor kitchen, shot some pictures, and let the brothers at the board. I never would have thought charcuterie boards were appealing to a man’s man but boyyy was I wrong ; ) This board served a party of 12 – my immediate family plus our extended family visiting for the wedding. Take a look at my “recipe” and be sure to try Oscar Mayer Deli Fresh Meats. Let me know what you think!!

- Clear your counter tops and organize your grocery haul. Be sure you have at least 2 meats, 3 cheeses, 1 fruit, a sweet jam, and something pickled.
- Layer deli meats then cheeses, and finally some olives or pickles.
- Mix in a variety of fruits to add depth and color to the board.
- Add serving spoon to the jar of jam and set on board.
